A throttle cable that is frayed, kinked, or gummed up makes the throttle heavy, sticky, or slow to return, which is both annoying and unsafe. A fresh cable gives smooth, light action and a clean snap back to idle. Lube and route it correctly on fitting, and confirm the length and end fittings against your original.
